Job Description

Our team is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Professional to join us in Johannesburg. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver therapeutic interventions. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our mission of fostering mental health and wellbeing within the community.

Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose mental health disorders in clients.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions.
• Create and implement treatment strategies tailored to client goals.
• Engage in crisis intervention as necessary.
• Work with families and caregivers to promote client understanding and support.
• Provide educational workshops on mental health topics.
• Review and document client progress consistently.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology
• PhD in Psychology is a plus

Experience

• 5 years of clinical experience in a mental health capacity

Technical Skills

• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Trauma-Informed Care

Soft Skills

• Active Listening
• Crisis Management

Certifications

• National Counselor Examination (NCE)
• Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Bilingualism in Afrikaans: Ability to speak both English and Afrikaans is advantageous.
• Experience with adolescent mental health: Knowledge and experience in working with young people.
