Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a detail-oriented Civil Engineer who will be responsible for designing and overseeing construction projects in Bloemfontein. You will engage with clients, assess project feasibility, and ensure environmental and safety standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee civil engineering projects from conception through to completion.
• Conduct site evaluations and project feasibility studies.
• Ensure all engineering work complies with safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to create innovative solutions.
• Prepare cost estimates and manage project budgets.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
• Review and approve designs and engineering plans.
• Perform calculations and analyses for infrastructure projects.
• Supervise construction activities and conduct inspections.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Master's degree is advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in civil engineering or related field

Certifications

• Professional Engineer (PrEng)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with BIM technology: Knowledge and experience in Building Information Modelling for civil projects.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations: Understanding of local and national environmental laws affecting construction.
