Job Description

We are seeking a Mining Engineer to join our dedicated team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and overseeing mining operations, ensuring safe and efficient extraction of minerals. This role requires a combination of technical expertise and strong problem-solving skills to navigate the challenges of the mining sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of innovative mining technologies.
• Assist in the development of new mineral resources.
• Evaluate and optimize operational processes to reduce costs.
• Develop training programs for junior engineers and staff.
• Manage relationships with contractors and suppliers.
• Ensure effective communication with all project stakeholders.
• Participate in budgeting and forecasting for projects.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years experience in mining engineering

Technical Skills

• Mining Software (e.g., Surpac, MineCAD)
• Geological Mapping
• Project Management

Certifications

• Mine Managers' Certificate of Competency
• First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
