Mammography Technician

Job Description

We are in search of a skilled Mammography Technician to perform mammograms and various diagnostic imaging procedures. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with medical professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and develop treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammograms and assist with advanced imaging techniques.
• Monitor equipment performance and report any faults.
• Educate patients about mammography and answering queries.
• Ensure accurate interpretation of imaging results.
• Document and report any complications arising from procedures.
• Train new staff and interns on imaging protocols.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to policy improvements.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the imaging department.

Requirements

Education

• Registered Mammography Technologist (R.T.) with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred

Experience

• Experience with 3D mammography technology is advantageous

• Knowledge of Safety Protocols

Certifications

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Languages

• English: Fluent
