Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer for our Cape Town office. This role involves designing structural systems, performing analysis, and preparing detailed drawings and specifications, ensuring that all projects are completed to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural designs using relevant software tools.
• Evaluate materials for appropriate use in designs.
• Lead project meetings and communicate project updates.
• Coordinate with local authorities for project approvals.
• Implement sustainable practices in design solutions.
• Mentor and train junior engineering staff on best practices.
• Prepare reports on project status for management review.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in structural engineering

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• SAP2000
• Revit
• FEM Software

Soft Skills

• Analytical skills
• Communication

Certifications

• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration
• LEED accreditation

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in project management software: Experience with software such as MS Project or Primavera.
