Job Description

We are in search of a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will assist veterinarians in providing high-quality care for animals, performing diagnostic tests, and ensuring that all patients are comfortable and healthy. Your responsibilities will include assisting with surgeries, administering medications, and educating pet owners on health practices.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians in surgery and emergency situations.
• Collect and prepare tissue samples for laboratory analysis.
• Offer guidance to clients on behavioral issues and training.
• Ensure the clinic is clean, safe, and organized.
• Maintain records of pet health history and treatments.
• Assist with the intake and discharge of patients.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development.
• Help train and mentor junior staff and volunteers.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Veterinary Nursing or related field
• Additional certification in animal care is preferable

Experience

• 3+ years in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital
