Job Description

As a Zoo Veterinarian at Wildlife Care Solutions, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care, conducting routine examinations, and developing treatment plans for a variety of zoo animals. You will collaborate with other veterinary professionals and zoo staff to ensure optimal animal welfare.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough examinations and diagnose health issues in various species.
  • Formulate and execute effective treatment and rehabilitation protocols.
  • Oversee and assist with wildlife rescue and rehabilitation efforts.
  • Collaborate with conservation programs to protect endangered species.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed veterinary records for each animal.
  • Coordinate with staff on behavioral enrichment and habitat management.
  • Participate in training sessions and continue professional development.
  • Engage with the public to promote understanding of animal welfare.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across the zoo.
  • Support zoo operations with a focus on animal health and welfare.

Requirements

Education
  • DVM degree from an accredited veterinary school
  • Preferred qualifications include specialized training in exotic animal medicine.
Experience
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience working with exotic or zoo animals.
