Responsibilities

  • Perform functional assessments and create individualized treatment plans.
  • Deliver direct therapy services to patients, focusing on improving quality of life.
  • Involve family members in the rehabilitative process to foster support.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of interventions and make necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Educate patients and families about strategies for managing conditions.
  • Maintain detailed records of patient history, assessment results, and treatment outcomes.
  • Participate in case reviews and interdisciplinary meetings.
  • Conduct community outreach to promote occupational therapy services.
  • Engage in research and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
Experience
  • 2+ years of clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist
