Firearms Inspector

Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Firearms Inspector to join our team in Johannesburg. This role involves conducting thorough inspections of firearms dealers and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of firearms laws and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed inspections of firearms dealers and ensure compliance with all regulations.
• Review documentation related to firearms purchases and ownership.
• Inspect firearms and related equipment for performance and reliability.
• Compile and present reports on inspection outcomes to management.
• Facilitate compliance workshops for firearms stakeholders.
• Update records accurately and efficiently following inspections.
• Collaborate closely with law enforcement in investigations when required.
• Interpret and apply firearms legislation effectively.
• Assist in drafting regulatory guidelines for firearms organizations.
• Engage with firearm owners to promote compliance and safety.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement, Criminology, or a related field
• Valid Firearms Control Act (FCA) Inspector Certification
• Additional relevant certifications are preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in firearms inspection or related regulatory fields.
