Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Cape Town. In this role, you will analyze insurance applications, assess risk, and collaborate with stakeholders to formulate policies that protect our clients effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze risk factors for potential insurance applicants.
  • Make informed decisions on policy terms and premium rates.
  • Communicate with clients regarding underwriting outcomes.
  • Work with the claims department to evaluate losses and adjust policies.
  • Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines and standards.
  • Oversee the renewals of existing policies based on current risk assess.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed of industry trends.
  • Provide training and support to junior underwriters.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Professional qualifications in underwriting are advantageous
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in insurance underwriting
