Veterinarian

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Veterinarian to join our team in Durban. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating animals, performing surgeries, and providing high-quality care to pets and their owners.

Responsibilities

• Examine animals to diagnose health problems.
• Prescribe medications and monitor recovery.
• Perform surgical procedures and postoperative care.
• Conduct health screenings and vaccinations.
• Guide clients in pet nutrition and behavior.

Requirements

Education

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an accredited university
• Postgraduate qualification is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of veterinary experience desired

Technical Skills

• Emergency medicine
• Anesthesia administration

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Client management

Certifications

• Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of holistic treatments: Experience with alternative therapies such as acupuncture or herbal medicine.
• Skills in animal behaviour: Understanding of animal behaviour principles for better patient care.
