Environmental Engineer

Job Description

As an Environmental Engineer in our Durban office, you will play a key role in improving environmental quality and facilitating compliance with regulations. You will work closely with project teams, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to drive sustainability initiatives and create actionable environmental strategies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate environmental assessments during project development.
• Develop proposals for environmental projects and initiatives.
• Design environmental restoration plans and oversee their implementation.
• Facilitate communication with local communities regarding environmental issues.
• Advocate for sustainable practices within the organization.
• Analyze hydraulic and hydrological data to support project development.
• Prepare technical specifications and scope of work for projects.
• Benchmark and apply best practices from the industry.
• Contribute to grant writing and funding proposals for environmental projects.
• Ensure the sustainability of natural resources through effective management.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or applicable engineering field
• Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or related field is desirable

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in environmental assessments and project management

• Environmental impact assessment
