Insurance Underwriter

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our Port Elizabeth team. The right candidate will assess risks, determine coverage levels, and provide recommendations to ensure our clients receive optimal insurance solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assess various insurance risks in line with company policies.
• Develop relationships with clients and brokers to facilitate effective communication.
• Document underwriting decisions and maintain accurate records for audits.
• Stay informed about changes in legislation affecting insurance underwriting.
• Participate in training programs to enhance underwriting skills and knowledge.
• Provide continuous feedback and support to junior underwriters.
• Handle queries and complaints from clients regarding underwriting decisions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Professional underwriting certification is a plus

Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in insurance underwriting or relevant field
