Job Description

As an Insurance Underwriter, you will evaluate insurance applications, assess risks, and determine appropriate coverage options. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to join our dedicated team in Durban. The ideal candidate should possess a strong analytical mindset and excellent communication skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyse insurance proposals to determine eligibility.
  • Work closely with sales teams to ensure client requirements are met.
  • Identify key risk factors and recommend policy terms accordingly.
  • Ensure documentation is accurately completed and maintained.
  • Provide support for claims processing as needed.
  • Engage in continuous education and professional development.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve underwriting standards.
  • Trend and report on underwriting performance and results.
  • Assist in creating new insurance products based on market needs.
  • Respond to inquiries from clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Professional certification in Insurance preferred

  • 4+ years in underwriting or related roles
