Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Animal Welfare Officer to join our team in Durban. As an Animal Welfare Officer, you'll play a crucial role in protecting and advocating for the welfare of animals in the community. You will be responsible for investigating reports of animal cruelty, ensuring compliance with animal welfare laws, and working closely with local authorities and animal shelters.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of animal facilities.
• Gather evidence for cruelty cases and prepare reports.
• Engage in public speaking to advocate for animal rights.
• Coordinate rescue efforts for animals in crisis situations.
• Provide guidance on animal care to pet owners and the community.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of welfare programs.
• Ensure compliance with relevant animal welfare legislation.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Animal Science or related field
• Veterinary degree preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in veterinary or animal welfare roles
