Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Counsellor to join our team in East London. In this role, you will work with individuals and groups to address mental health challenges, providing therapeutic support and building resilience in our community. The ideal candidate will have experience in various therapeutic approaches and an understanding of mental health issues prevalent in South Africa. You will be instrumental in fostering a safe environment for clients to share their experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Offer counseling services to clients facing various mental health challenges.
  • Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with clients.
  • Evaluate treatment outcomes and provide feedback.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to promote mental wellness.
  • Work on developing resources and tools to enhance client engagement.
  • Advocate for clients’ needs within the healthcare system.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field
  • Master's degree in Counselling or Psychology is essential
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in counselling practices
