Childcare Worker

Job Description

We are seeking compassionate Childcare Workers to join our team in Durban. If you have a passion for nurturing children's growth and learning, this role is for you. You will be responsible for creating a safe and stimulating environment for children, engaging them through play-based activities, and supporting their developmental needs.

Responsibilities

• Engage children in play-based learning activities.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Assist in meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
• Arrange and maintain educational materials and resources.
• Collaborate with other staff members to enhance children’s experiences.
• Provide emotional support and respond to children's needs.
• Facilitate communication between parents and the childcare team.

Requirements

Education

• Minimum of Matric (Grade 12)
• Qualification in Early Childhood Development (ECD) is preferred

Experience

• 1+ year experience in childcare or a related field.

Technical Skills

• Child Development Knowledge
• First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with special needs education: Experience working with children with learning disabilities or developmental delays.
• Knowledge of children's nutrition: Understanding of healthy meal planning and dietary needs.
