Job Description

We are seeking a Security Engineer to fortify our cybersecurity infrastructure in Johannesburg. This role is critical in protecting sensitive information and ensuring compliance with security standards. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in network security, risk assessment, and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions on platforms like AWS and Azure.
• Manage and optimize cloud resources to ensure peak performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud operations.
• Collaborate with development teams to provide cloud best practices and guidance.
• Monitor and maintain cloud security protocols and compliance standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues swiftly.
• Contribute to the planning and deployment of new project implementations.
• Participate in capacity planning and system optimization.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Master’s degree is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in cloud environments

Technical Skills

• Kubernetes
• CI/CD Pipelines

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with DevOps methodologies: Familiarity with DevOps practices to enhance collaboration between development and operations.
