Responsibilities

• Create and explain policy terms, exclusions, and endorsements clearly to clients.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and customers.
• Monitor the performance of issued policies and adjust underwriting criteria as needed.
• Engage in continuous education to enhance underwriting skills and knowledge.
• Utilize data analysis to inform underwriting decisions and pricing strategies.
• Assist in resolving any underwriting disputes or discrepancies with thoughtful solutions.
• Conduct market research to remain competitive in the underwriting landscape.
• Participate in company initiatives to improve client experience and service delivery.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or Business Administration
• Master's degree in a relevant field is advantageous.

Experience

• 5+ years of underwriting experience in various insurance sectors

• Fellowship in the Insurance Institute of South Africa
