Job Description

As an Insurance Underwriter, you'll assess insurance applications, analyze risks, and develop policies that meet client needs while ensuring profitability for the company. We seek an individual with a keen analytical mind and a passion for the insurance industry to join our collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Assess applications and evaluate the risk associated with insuring clients.
• Collaborate with insurance agents and brokers for application insights.
• Utilize statistical analysis for risk assessment and decision making.
• Maintain effective communication with clients to clarify underwriting requirements.
• Analyze trends within the insurance market to improve underwriting strategies.
• Participate in regular meetings with the underwriting team to discuss and resolve underwriting issues.
• Update and maintain underwriting databases and management systems.
• Provide mentorship and support to junior underwriters.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and best practices in underwriting procedures.
• Participate in client meetings to provide underwriting expertise as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or a related field
• Post-graduate qualification is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of underwriting experience, preferably in commercial lines
