Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Port Elizabeth. In this role, you will assist in managing the pharmacy operations, collaborating closely with pharmacists to dispense medications, provide patient support, and ensure compliance with health regulations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure efficient operations.
• Manage patient inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
• Prepare and label pharmaceutical products accurately.
• Review prescriptions for completeness and accuracy.
• Educate patients on medication usage and possible side effects.
• Document and report any discrepancies in medication records.

Requirements

Education

• National Diploma in Pharmacy
• Further studies in medication management preferred

Experience

• At least 2-3 years in a pharmacy setting

• Dispensing Medications
• Inventory Control

• Problem-Solving

Certifications

• Registered Pharmacy Technician

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in patient counseling: Ability to provide patients with clear medication instructions.
• Bilingual skills: Fluency in Afrikaans is an added advantage.
