Pharmacist

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Pharmacist to join our team at HealthFirst Pharmacy in Durban. You will play a crucial role in delivering outstanding pharmaceutical care, advising patients on medication, and ensuring the safe dispensing of prescriptions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation of pharmacy initiatives to enhance patient care.
• Participate in quality assurance and improvement projects.
• Provide recommendations for formulary changes based on patient needs.
• Advise healthcare professionals on therapeutic options.
• Conduct seminars and workshops on pharmaceutical care for staff.
• Maintain active participation in community health events.
• Support chronic disease management programs through medication education.
• Utilize electronic health records for patient management.
• Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or related field
• PharmD is an advantage

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in pharmacy practice, preferably in retail

Certifications

• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council
• Certified Immunizer

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Intermediate

• Management experience in a pharmacy setting: Leadership experience in a pharmacy or healthcare environment.
