Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Civil Design Engineer to join our growing team in Pietermaritzburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering design, with expertise in structural, transportation, or environmental engineering. You will work on diverse projects that focus on enhancing urban infrastructure, ensuring compliance with government regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of engineering designs that meet client specifications.
• Collaborate with external agencies to ensure compliance with all related standards.
• Support the preparation of contract documents and cost estimates.
• Attend project meetings to provide technical insights.
• Evaluate the performance of completed projects and identify areas for future improvement.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide them through projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
• Interpret and apply regulations related to civil engineering projects.
• Document findings and prepare reports for management review.
• Support business development efforts and proposal preparation.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in civil and structural engineering projects
