Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacist to join our team at Health First Pharmacy in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications, counseling patients on medication usage, and ensuring compliance with health regulations. You will play a vital role in promoting health and wellness in our community, providing expert advice on prescriptions and over-the-counter medications. Prior experience in a retail pharmacy setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Educate patients on the proper use of medications and devices.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with patients and healthcare providers.
  • Conduct regular audits of pharmaceutical inventory and expiry dates.
  • Participate in quality improvement programs within the pharmacy.
  • Provide support during health campaigns and initiatives.
  • Facilitate training programs for pharmacy interns and staff.
  • Manage and resolve patient complaints regarding medications.
  • Assist with pharmacy marketing efforts and health awareness programs.
  • Collaborate with local healthcare agencies for community outreach.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
  • Registered Pharmacist with additional certifications preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of retail pharmacy experience preferred
