Storyboard Artist

Job Description

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Storyboard Artist to join our artistic team in Johannesburg. You will be responsible for visual storytelling through storyboard creation, translating ideas into captivating sequences that guide our animation productions.

Responsibilities

• Produce engaging storyboards to outline scenes and actions.
• Collaborate with scriptwriters to accurately depict storylines.
• Revise storyboards according to project development and feedback.
• Ensure animations align with storyboard visuals for continuity.
• Assist in presenting storyboards to clients for approval and feedback.
• Document storyboard edits and variations for production teams.
• Contribute to creative discussions and problem-solving.
• Research and incorporate styles and visual storytelling techniques.
• Support the team in developing pitches for new projects.
• Work with post-production to ensure story alignment.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Animation or related field
• Certification in Animation or Film Production is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of professional experience in storyboarding for animation

Certifications

• Adobe Certified Expert (ACE)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in character animation: Ability to create and board character-driven stories in animation.
