Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Roadway Engineer to join our Johannesburg team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the design, development, and improvement of roadway systems, ensuring they meet safety standards and are environmentally friendly. You will collaborate with various stakeholders and utilize your expertise to deliver projects that enhance transportation efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for new roadway projects and renovations.
• Conduct assessments of current roadway conditions and recommend improvements.
• Prepare technical plans and specifications for local government approvals.
• Engage with community stakeholders to address concerns and gather feedback.
• Utilize civil engineering software for design and reporting.
• Oversee construction activities to ensure adherence to engineering standards.
• Collaborate with environmental engineers to assess impacts and mitigate risks.
• Develop and maintain relationships with contractors and suppliers.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration is preferred

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in roadway or transportation engineering
