Backend Developer

Job Description

We're seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our Cape Town team. In this role, you will develop and maintain server-side applications, ensuring high performance and responsiveness. The ideal candidate should be adept with database management and backend frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Create backend services and APIs using modern frameworks.
• Maintain and improve existing applications to enhance performance.
• Participate in code reviews to uphold best practices.
• Develop secure and reliable database schemas.
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Help troubleshoot and resolve application bugs and issues.
• Understand system architecture and propose improvements.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a similar field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience working with backend systems

Advantageous

• Understanding of microservices architecture: Experience designing applications using microservices.
