IT Support Technician

Job Description

As an IT Support Technician in Bloemfontein, you'll be the backbone of our IT operations. This position requires a keen understanding of both hardware and software troubleshooting, as well as excellent communication skills. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting users, maintaining systems, and enhancing our IT services.

Responsibilities

• Manage the help desk ticketing system and ensure prompt resolution of issues.
• Oversee the installation of new hardware and software.
• Ensure data protection and security compliance.
• Coordinate with IT staff on larger IT projects.
• Assist with inventory management of IT assets.
• Participate in planning and improvement initiatives for IT services.
• Provide assistance with mobile devices and remote support.
• Serve as a point of contact for technical inquiries from staff.
• Assist with research into new technologies for the organization.
• Help maintain a positive IT support experience for users.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Computer Science or IT
• Relevant certifications are advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years of IT support experience is preferred

Technical Skills

• Linux OS
• Remote Support Tools

• Analytical thinking

Certifications

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• ITIL Foundation Certificate

Languages

• English: Fluent
