Job Description

We're seeking a skilled Actuary to support our actuarial team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in risk assessment, pricing strategies, and financial modeling to enhance our service offerings.

Responsibilities

• Perform frequent updates and validations of actuarial models.
• Provide actuarial support for mergers and acquisitions.
• Engage in continuous professional development and training.
• Review and revise methodologies and practices in alignment with modern trends.
• Contribute to the improvement of data collection and processing frameworks.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's in Actuarial Science or a quantitative field
• Master's in Actuarial Science is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of strong actuarial experience in insurance or finance

Technical Skills

• Statistical Analysis
• Financial Reporting

Soft Skills

• Communication skills
• Attention to detail

Certifications

• Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with AI and ML techniques: Understanding how AI/ML can be applied in actuarial science for predictive analysis.
• Experience with data visualization tools: Experience creating engaging visual representations of data for better insights.
