Job Description

As an Acute Care Physical Therapist, you will evaluate and treat patients with critical conditions, using your expertise in musculoskeletal and neurological systems to develop tailored treatment plans. You will work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Administer specialized physical therapy treatments for acute care.
• Evaluate and document treatment outcomes effectively.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses for comprehensive treatment.
• Adapt treatment plans based on patient responses and progress.
• Participate in patient care team strategies and meetings.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy
• Valid registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a physical therapist in an acute care setting.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of musculoskeletal and neurological systems
• Manual therapy techniques

Soft Skills

• Communication skills

• Problem-solving skills

Certifications

• Current certification in Basic Life Support
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent
