Responsibilities

• Perform patient intakes and document medical histories.
• Screen for and manage chronic diseases prevalent in the community.
• Engage in patient counseling regarding medical conditions and treatments.
• Coordinate with nursing staff to ensure quality patient care.
• Educate patients about immunizations and preventative health measures.
• Participate in health fairs and community outreach programs.
• Develop and contribute to patient education materials.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Facilitate continuity of care through effective follow-up procedures.
• Monitor the quality of care provided to patients and suggest improvements.

Requirements

Education

• Fellowship or specialization in family medicine is advantageous
• Additional certifications in urgent care or emergency medicine preferred

Experience

• Experience in a community healthcare setting is a plus

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Basic
