Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Waste Management Specialist to join our team in Port Elizabeth. As a specialist, you will be responsible for implementing waste reduction programs and promoting sustainable waste management practices. The ideal candidate will have a background in environmental science and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead community outreach efforts to enhance waste management awareness.
• Design and implement educational campaigns targeting waste reduction.
• Evaluate and report on community waste management programs.
• Work with teams to develop waste diversion strategies.
• Ensure all waste management practices align with legislation.
• Coordinate with environmental agencies for compliance and support.
• Develop performance metrics to assess waste reduction initiatives.
• Advise on the procurement of waste management equipment and services.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
• Postgraduate qualification in Waste Management is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in waste management or environmental consulting
