A Tail Edger is responsible for the final stages of the wood production process, specifically cutting and shaping the ends of lumber to prepare it for shipping and/or use in various products.
Responsibilities
Set up saws and edgers for different products.
Conduct routine checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Effectively manage material flow and stock levels.
Address any machinery faults promptly to minimize downtime.
Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions.
Requirements
Education
Grade 12 or equivalent
Additional certifications in machinery operation beneficial
Experience
At least 2 years of experience operating woodworking machinery.
