Job Description

We are searching for a skilled Structural Engineer to join our vibrant team in Pietermaritzburg. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and managing structural projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate must possess a strong knowledge of construction materials and methods, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Design innovative structures that meet client needs and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct structural analysis and optimization using specialized software.
• Ensure that all design work prioritizes safety and sustainability.
• Collaborate closely with project managers for effective project execution.
• Contribute to proposal development and project scoping.
• Review and approve subcontractor work through regular site visits.
• Lead structural review and design meetings to ensure project alignment.
• Assist in managing project risks and addressing problems promptly.
• Participate in community outreach initiatives fostering engineering education.
• Document lessons learned and incorporate them into process improvements.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or similar
• Master's degree in related field is a plus

Experience

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in structural engineering projects

• Revit
• Finite Element Analysis

Certifications

• LEED Green Associate

Languages

• English: Fluent
