Chemical Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a motivated Chemical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Pietermaritzburg. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in chemical processes and engineering principles, contributing to the development of innovative solutions. The role involves collaborating on projects, conducting experiments, and optimizing production processes to enhance efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement experiments to test hypotheses regarding chemical reactions.
• Develop process flow diagrams and P&ID for new projects.
• Present findings in technical meetings and write reports for upper management.
• Intervene in process deviations to maintain product quality.
• Plan and manage projects from inception to completion.
• Engage in product lifecycle management to enhance system viability.
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions for staff.
• Collaborate with R&D to integrate new technologies.
• Cultivate a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the team.
• Evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate contracts.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related field
• Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in process engineering or related roles
