Job Description

We are hiring a skilled Pharmacy Technician for our Port Elizabeth location. In this role, you will support our pharmacists by preparing medications, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent customer service. A positive attitude and a passion for healthcare are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee medication preparation and distribution.
  • Engage with customers to provide drug information and health advice.
  • Implement pharmacy policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and order supplies as needed.
  • Assist in quality assurance and safety checks.
  • Utilize pharmacy software to manage prescriptions and documentation.
  • Support pharmacists during health fairs and community events.
  • Continuously update knowledge on pharmaceuticals and industry standards.

Requirements

Education
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification
  • Associate degree in Pharmacy Technology
Experience
  • 2+ years of pharmacy experience preferred
Technical Skills
  • Familiarity with drug interactions
  • Experience in compounding medications
Soft Skills
  • Problem-solving
  • Teamwork
Certifications
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
Languages
  • English: Fluent
  • Xhosa: Conversational
