Job Description

The Newborn Hearing Screener will play a crucial role in conducting hearing screenings for newborns. This position is vital for early detection of hearing loss, working hand in hand with medical professionals and parents to provide timely and accurate results.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hearing screenings on newborns, using protocols and standardized equipment.
  • Identify any signs of hearing loss or abnormalities and act accordingly.
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely referrals and follow-up care.
  • Document all results accurately in patient records.
  • Educate families on the significance of regular hearing assessments for infants.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings to discuss patient care strategies.
  • Maintain equipment in proper working condition and ensure cleanliness.
  • Stay informed about relevant local policies and guidelines concerning newborn health.
  • Assist in training new staff on screening procedures and equipment usage.

Requirements

Education
