Job Description

We are on the lookout for an IT Support Technician to join our vibrant team in Bloemfontein. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, providing support to end-users, and ensuring network performance remains at its peak. You'll play a crucial role in maintaining our IT infrastructure and ensuring seamless operations.

Responsibilities

• Offer first-line support to users for incidents and service requests.
• Collaborate with vendors and service providers for hardware and software maintenance.
• Conduct regular checks on system performance and integrity.
• Provide support for network-related issues and escalate when necessary.
• Assist in the implementation of IT projects and upgrades.
• Participate in IT audits and assessments to ensure compliance with standards.
• Deliver training sessions for new technologies implemented in the workplace.
• Participate in developing policies and procedures to improve IT service delivery.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in IT or equivalent qualification
• BSc in Computer Science is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in IT support

Technical Skills

• Linux operating systems
• Hardware troubleshooting

Soft Skills

• Customer Service Orientation
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals
• Cisco Certified Technician (CCT)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Backup Solutions: Knowledge of data backup methods and solutions.
• Familiarity with Antivirus and Security Software: Understanding of how to configure and troubleshoot security software.
