Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Counselor to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing therapeutic services, supporting individuals through mental health difficulties and fostering a supportive environment for growth and recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver individual and group therapy to clients based on their specific needs.
  • Create tailored treatment plans and set achievable goals.
  • Monitor client progress and provide ongoing support.
  • Respond to crises and provide immediate interventions.
  • Document treatment processes and keep up-to-date client records.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive care.
  • Advocate for patients and promote mental health resources in the community.
  • Lead educational sessions on coping strategies and mental wellness.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work
  • Registration with the HPCSA is preferred
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a counseling or therapeutic role
