Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets, building predictive models, and providing actionable insights. This role requires a strong foundation in statistics and machine learning, as well as proficiency in data visualization tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large datasets to uncover meaningful insights and opportunities.
• Create and refine machine learning algorithms.
• Work closely with IT and business teams to implement data-driven solutions.
• Prepare detailed documentation of processes and findings.
• Train junior data scientists and share best practices.
• Conduct A/B testing to validate model performance.
• Participate in data governance initiatives.
• Provide mentorship to team members in statistical methodologies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in data analysis or data science
