Job Description

As a Sterile Processing Coordinator, you will oversee and coordinate the sterilization of medical equipment and supplies in our facility. Your role will be critical in ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and maintaining a sterile environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee sterilization protocols and ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Schedule equipment and instrument sterilization activities efficiently.
• Conduct staff training on sterilization best practices and safety protocols.
• Develop training manuals and educational materials for team members.
• Collaborate with procurement to ensure adequate supply levels.
• Implement quality control measures for process improvement.
• Prepare reports on sterilization activities for management review.
• Assist in resolving any equipment malfunctions or issues promptly.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the sterilization team.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaborations to enhance patient safety.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification in Sterile Processing or related field

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in sterile processing or healthcare-related positions.

Technical Skills

• Ability to operate sterilization equipment
• Understanding of medical equipment

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well in a team

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with AAMI, CDC guidelines: Familiarity with guidelines set by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation and the Centers for Disease Control.
• Training in infection control: Knowledge of techniques and practices that minimize infection risks in healthcare settings.
