Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of structural design principles and a strong commitment to delivering effective engineering solutions that meet industry standards. You will work closely with architects, project managers, and other engineers to ensure the successful execution of projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation of engineering designs on-site.
• Assist in resolving any engineering issues that arise during construction.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new projects.
• Create detailed calculations for structural designs.
• Prepare reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
• Research and apply new engineering technologies and methodologies.
• Support the project manager in meeting project deadlines.
• Assist in site planning and organization.
• Participate in hazard assessments and risk management.
• Promote sustainable practices in engineering design.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in structural engineering

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• Revit Structure
• ETABS

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail
• Leadership

Certifications

• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration
• Certified Project Manager (CPM)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM): Experience using BIM for enhanced collaboration and project efficiency.
• Knowledge of construction materials: Deep understanding of materials used in structural engineering.
