DevOps Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated DevOps Engineer to enhance our infrastructure and automate our deployment processes in Johannesburg. The selected candidate will work closely with development and operations teams to design and maintain CI/CD workflows, leveraging their knowledge of cloud systems to improve service reliability and performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop automated solutions for recurring operational tasks.
• Design strategies for continuous integration and continuous deployment.
• Review system architecture to ensure it meets business demands for performance and scalability.
• Train team members on best practices in DevOps methodologies and tools.
• Conduct post-mortems on incidents and lead efforts to improve processes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• Postgraduate qualification is an advantage

Experience

• 4+ years working in DevOps practices

Technical Skills

• Terraform

Certifications

• Google Professional Cloud Architect
• Certified Jenkins Engineer

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of SQL databases: Understanding of relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL for efficient data handling.
• Familiarity with various cloud providers: Experience working with multiple cloud providers beyond AWS.
