Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our Johannesburg team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with SA tax regulations, and providing critical financial insights to support business decisions. This role requires strong analytical skills and a robust understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete accounting cycle, from accounts payable to financial reporting.
• Prepare detailed financial reports for management review.
• Conduct internal audits and compliance checks.
• Evaluate financial performance against benchmarks and key performance indicators.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
• Train and mentor junior staff in accounting best practices.
• Work with external auditors to facilitate annual audits.
• Provide detailed reports and insights for strategic decision-making.
• Assist with cash flow management and forecasting.
• Stay updated on changes in financial regulations affecting the business.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
• Chartered Accountant designation is advantageous.

Experience

• 4+ years of progressive experience in accounting.
