Job Description

We are in search of a detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join our growing team in Durban. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and have experience preparing tax returns, advising clients on tax strategies, and ensuring compliance with South African tax laws. As a Tax Accountant, you will be pivotal in helping our clients navigate complex tax regulations and optimise their financial outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Advise clients on tax strategies and compliance to minimize tax liabilities.
• Stay up to date with the latest tax laws and regulations.
• Help clients with tax audits and other inquiries from tax authorities.
• Assist in financial reporting and tax planning services.
• Conduct tax research to identify tax-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with other finance professionals to ensure accurate reporting.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
• Master's degree is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a tax-focused role

• Tax Compliance

Certifications

• Accounting Technician (AT) Certification
• Registered Tax Consultant (RTC)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Intermediate

• Understanding of VAT and corporate tax regulations: Knowledge of both VAT regulations and corporate tax laws.
