Structural Engineer

Job Description

As a Structural Engineer, you will play a vital role in the design and management of construction projects. Your expertise will ensure that structures are safe, durable, and adhere to all regulatory requirements in the Cape Town area.

Responsibilities

• Select appropriate construction materials based on design specifications.
• Assess potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Conduct quality control inspections on site during construction.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
• Participate in regular team meetings to discuss project milestones.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in structural design

Technical Skills

• Reinforced Concrete Design
• Steel Design

Soft Skills

• Critical Thinking
• Leadership

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Chartered Engineer status is preferable

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with seismic design: Knowledge of seismic design standards and practices.
• CAD Management skills: Experience in managing CAD processes and standards.
