Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our Durban office. In this role, you will analyze applications for insurance coverage, evaluate risk, and make decisions about policy approval. Your analytical abilities and knowledge of insurance principles will play a vital role in helping us serve our clients effectively.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate insurance applications and assess risk factors.
• Determine policy pricing and coverage terms.
• Collaborate with insurance agents to gather necessary information.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and guidelines.
• Prepare reports and documentation related to underwriting decisions.
• Assist in developing underwriting policies and procedures.
• Review and evaluate claims to determine validity and eligibility.
• Communicate with clients regarding policy decisions and clarifications.
• Stay updated on industry trends and changes in legislation.
• Participate in training sessions and continuous professional development.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in insurance underwriting or a related field
