Nursery Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking a Nursery Supervisor to lead our team of childcare professionals and ensure the safety, well-being, and development of the children in our care. The ideal candidate will oversee daily operations, manage staff, and coordinate educational programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the nursery team in daily activities and educational programs.
• Foster a welcoming atmosphere for children and families.
• Monitor and assess the progress and development of children.
• Collaborate with external resources and specialists as needed.
• Facilitate staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies as necessary.

Requirements

Education

• Matric
• Degree in Early Childhood Education or similar field preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a childcare setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of educational standards
• Microsoft Office Suite

Soft Skills

• Empathy
• Organizational skills

Certifications

• Valid First Aid and CPR certification
• Police Clearance Certificate

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Intermediate

Advantageous

• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans: Ability to communicate fluently in both English and Afrikaans.
• Experience with assessment and reporting: Experience in evaluating children's progress and communicating results.
