Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Fitness Trainer to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting personal training sessions, designing fitness programs for clients, and helping members stay motivated in their fitness journey.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and track client fitness progress and adjust programs accordingly.
  • Instruct clients on proper exercise techniques to prevent injury.
  • Create a positive and motivating environment for clients.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss client progress and program effectiveness.
  • Develop community outreach programs to attract new clients.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and report any issues to management.
  • Uphold industry standards and promote health and safety in all training sessions.

Requirements

Education
  • Certification in Group Fitness Instruction
  • Degree in Sports Science or related field is preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in fitness training and group instruction
Technical Skills
  • Expertise in various fitness modalities (e.g., Yoga, Pilates, HIIT)
  • Strong proficiency in fitness technology and software
Soft Skills
  • Leadership abilities
  • Problem-solving skills
Certifications
  • AFAA Group Fitness Certification
  • NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
Languages
  • English: Fluent

  • Experience in injury rehabilitation: Knowledge in helping clients recover from injuries through tailored fitness programs.
  • Certifications in specialized fitness methods: Additional qualifications in areas such as Pilates or HIIT instruction.
