Mechanical Technician

Job Description

As a Mechanical Technician in our Johannesburg plant, you will be responsible for the upkeep of mechanical systems, including preventive maintenance and emergency repairs. A proactive approach and solid knowledge of mechanical systems are essential for success in this position, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ordering processes.
• Coordinate with external maintenance contractors as needed.
• Prepare and analyze maintenance reports to identify trends.
• Train junior technicians on best practices and procedures.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with company policies.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a similar qualification
• Trade qualifications are highly desirable

Experience

• 5+ years in mechanical maintenance or technician roles

• Mechanical Troubleshooting

Languages

• English: Fluent
